Gameboy Background/Pattern Pack
A downloadable asset pack
Gameboy Background/Pattern Pack
200 backgrounds of different patterns for Gameboy/GB studio projects.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great for filling in empty backgrounds, menus, cutscenes, and with some tweaking probably much more!
The zip includes:
- A variety of different high quality patterns, from simple geometric repeating patterns (Squares, circles, triangles) to more decorational/thematic ones (Pumpkins, anchors, notepad sheets and theatrical curtains).
- All backgrounds saved individually at 160x144. The number that follows the patterns file name is the unique tile count for that pattern. Average unique tile count for most patterns are between 1 to 20, with higher ones 40-80. No bespoke pattern goes above 100.
- A single image that contains every single background/pattern in one handy place. Good for quick viewing/getting a general idea of the entire pack.

Amazing! thank you so much.
Thank you!
Can you please share the source file? I want to have bigger image and change color to black...
Many thanks!
Sorry not quite sure I follow, source file? You can find every frame on the .png download. With that you can just resize/copy parts to make bigger scenes and change the colours.
Hi, I mean a vector/EPS file if exsist?
Cause I want to change color (to black) or make them larger (broken if scale the image).
Br,
Vector? Oh no sorry this is all pixel perfect/done in mspaint. There's literally nothing more to it than that, sorry!
I see, thank you! Can you export larger .png? Cause if I enlarge them, they will be broken...
It's all designed for the gameboy so it's based on a 160x144 pixel resolution. Enlarging pixel art as a whole doesn't really work, you can really only scale it by wholes, like x2, x4, x8, x16. Depending on your art program you should have the ability to do that.
What a lovely pack! I'm sure many people will find this useful, especially when just starting out. Great Job!
Thank you! Indeedy, part of their intended use is for newcomers and for more experienced devs they're something to fill in the blanks and build upon later :D.
I really like this. You went further than I expected with the notebook and paper ones. Really cool stuff
Glad you like 'em. The notebook ones are more bespoke/situational but I thought would be fun to throw in!
